Gingerbread Houses

On Sunday Brooke had the family over for dinner and gingerbread house decorating.  There was so much candy, but the kids loved it and couldn't get enough of it.  Here are our kid's houses.

BYU Basketball Game

On Saturday Karl took Fischer to his first BYU basketball game.  Craig (Karl's Brother) had been wanting to go so a bunch of the extented family went.

Sledding

We had such a fun time sledding with the Christensen side of the family.  Griffin would go down the hill with anyone who was willing to take him and Fischer couldn't get enough and has asked to go again everyday since.   I didn't do much sledding being pregnant but I did get a turn down the hill at least once.

Aunt Brooke was nice to take Griffin down a few times.

My three boys.  Crazy to think next year I'll have four.

A Whole Lot of Christensens

While we had family in town Joyce asked that we get a picture of everyone together.  It's so fun seeing how the family changes and continues to grow.

Christmas

We had a great Christmas this year.  It was so much fun seeing the magic of the season come to life in our little ones.  On Christmas Eve we started the day with breakfast at Jim's with my family and then dinner at my Mom and Dad's house later that night.
Every Christmas Eve the kids open up Christmas PJ's.
I could not get a good picture of my two kids in their Christmas PJ's.  Griffin refused to hold still, neither one would look at me, and if I could get them together Griffin didn't want to put down the ball.  They were more interested in playing then having pictures taken.
Later that night I went upstairs to find all the kids hanging out watching a movie.
The next morning Fischer was up bright and early.  He could not wait to open presents.  Santa had come and he could not wait any longer.
Fischer was SO excited to be getting a real motorcycle.
Griffin Loved his "flinstone" truck.  He sat in it the entire time we opened presents.  He would climb out, grab a present, take it back to the truck, open it, and then place his gift in the back of the truck bed.
After presents had been open, Fischer wanted to try out his motorcycle.  He was a bit timid to try it himself, so Dad hopped on with him to help.
While we were out, his friend down the street came driving by.  Santa had given him a motorcycle as well.  They both thought it was pretty cool that they each got a bike.
That night we went to Karl's parents for dinner and more present opening. It was fun having Karl's brother Craig and his family in town.  It made for a full house but a fun night.

Fischer and Griffin had fun playing with their cousins that they don't get to see often.

We feel very blessed that we were able to share this holiday with those we loved.  We missed those that could not join us and thought of them during this holiday season.  We love getting together and celebrating this special time of year. Merry Christmas!

Fischer's Birthday!

Can't believe Fischer is 5. Time really does fly by.  I sure love that kid.  He brings a smile to my face everyday.  Can't imagine life without him.  We kept it fairly simple this year, so on Sunday we had family get together for cake and icecream to celebrate.
Fischer has been into Ninja Turtle's lately so it only seemed natural that Mom make him a Ninja Turtle cake.
Once everyone arrived we sang Happy Birthday and Fischer blew out the candles.
After cake and icecream it was time to open gifts.  Fischer got spoiled with lots of fun things.

Every year Grandpa Mike marks on a stick how much they've grown each year.
On Monday, (Fischer's actual birthday).  We celebrated as a family.  He woke up that morning to a gift from Mom & Dad (a skateboard)
Fischer trying out his new board and protective gear

That night Karl, and I took Fischer to a rock climbing place in Lehi.  He had a pretty good time.  He got frustrated about not being able to climb as well as he thought he should but for his first time he did really well.

Daddy couching him on some of the harder walls
Working on building up his arm muscles
So glad we got to spend this special day with him.  Can't wait to see what adventures await him next year.  Love you Fischer!

December Catch-up

Just wanted to post some random but fun pictures of things that have been going on around our house this December.

Karl and I took Fischer to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir Christmas Concert.  The Seaseme Street Muffets came and we thought Fischer would have a good time going.  Fischer loved getting to hang out with both "Mom" and "Dad" all to himself and we loved being able to take him.  Can't believe he is getting old enough to attend these types of functions.

Sadie was pulling some funny faces, so I decided to try and snap a picture.  Right as I went to take it she stuck her tongue out at me instead.  I had to laugh when I realized the picture I got. Wasn't what I was going for but still funny.
Waiting for Dad.  I was upstairs doing some cleaning before Karl got home from work.  When I turned around, Griffin and Sadie were sitting side by side looking out the window waiting and watching for "dad."
Our neighborhood put together a fun Christmas party with great food, minute to win it games, and Santa.  Griffin was tired and wanted nothing to do with Santa this time around but Fischer was more then eager to get his hello in.
Fischer even got his name drawn to participate in the minute to win it game.  His challenge was to throw a ping pong ball up and try and catch it in the cup on his head.  He was SOO close so many times but managed to get it in with a little help from a friend towards the end, winning him a bag of Skittles.

Fischer's 5 Year Pictures

Fischer's birthday isn't technically for another week  but  we thought we would get pictures before the weather was too awful and I know I say this every year but I really can't believe Fischer is turning 5.  He is growing up SO fast.  He is such an independent kid, always wanting to do everything the older kids around him are doing.  He has the sweetest, politest, personality I know, and is very soft-hearted.  He will always be the first to give out a hug.  He has a big heart and is a great help to his mom around the house.  I love how his pictures turned out and i'm going to have a hard time figuring out which ones to print.
