We had a fun Christmas this year with the kids.  We were lucky enough to see both sides of the family.  We started our celebration at my Mom and Dad's for dinner on Christmas Eve night.  There we had the kids open up the new pajamas they get each year.

Griffin was sleeping so he missed out on the group shot.

On Christmas Morning Santa had come.  Fischer was SO excited to see that Santa and brought the golf clubs he had asked for.

 Griffin was enjoying himself too.

That night we went and had dinner at Karl's parents and opened gifts there as well.
Fischer had fun playing with his cousins and Uncle Nick too.

Fischer's 3rd Birthday

I can't believe Fischer is 3!  He is the sweetest, funniest, stubbornness 3 year old ever; but I love him.  For his birthday we kept it pretty low key this year but we still had a lot of fun.  The morning started out by opening presents from Mom and Dad. He received a fly rod,  reel, and a practice rod for him to play with and work on his casting. He was so excited.

Check out Fischer trying out his new practice rod.
Fischer had been wanting to go swimming for some time so we told him we would take him for his birthday. He had such a good time and it was fun to see him playing in the water.

Going down the big slide with Daddy.  We weren't sure if he would like it but he did and wanted to go again.
That night we had his grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles stop by for cake and icecream.  He sure loves his extended family.
Grandma Kate was nice enough to make Fischer's cake.  He LOVED it.  He immediately climbed up on the table and  was playing with the trucks racing it around the "track."  I had to take this quick picture before the cake was ruined and all the trucks were pulled off.

I liked this picture.  Fischer was singing and signing "Happy Me" while everyone was singing happy birthday to him.

After cake we let him open presents.  He got some fun stuff.

Thanks to everyone who came and help make his day a special one.  WE LOVE YOU FISCHER!  Can't wait to see what next year has in store for you.

Seeing Santa

Every year my Sister-in-law puts together a Christmas Party where Santa himself comes.  It's a fun time and the kids love seeing Santa.  Fischer was no exception.  He had been practicing all day what he was going to tell Santa he wanted.  He wants a fly rod and golf clubs.   Griffin doesn't say what he wants but I'm sure he wants a toy.

Griffin had decided he had enough. In all fairness though, he wasn't exactly feeling the best. Every year there has to be at least one crying kid, guess this was our year.

Santa's Reindeer

Yesterday we went and visited some of Santa's Reindeer at Thanksgiving Point.  Fischer thought they were pretty neat and according to Fischer we "No shoot em'."

2 Months and Growing

Can't believe Griffin is two months today.  He is growing up so fast.  Some fun highlights about him this month are:

  • He's starting to smile (melts my heart)
  • Slept through the night (5 times in the past month).
  • Not a fan of the car seat
  • He's getting really good at holding his head up.
  • Dealing with his first case of the sniffles/congestion :(
  • Had his first sleepover at Grandma's.

Tender Conversation

I had the cutest conversation with my almost three year old today as we were driving to his sitters. We were playing I spy and one of the things I spied was a church. So I asked Fischer if he saw the church and the rest of our conversation went as follows:

Fischer: Jesus house!
Me: Is the Church Jesus House?
F: Yup
Me: is that where we go to learn about Jesus?
F: yup, baby Jesus in there
Me: oh, really, I think Baby Jesus is now a grown man but we celebrate the birth of Jesus at Christmas, So we’re celebrating Jesus’ birthday
F: candle, blow, me help.
Me: I’m sure if Jesus was blowing out candles he would let you help
F: (All Serious-like) Jesus Sick
Me: Jesus Sick?
F: yeah
F: me sad, me cry
Me: You mean Jesus was hurt when they nailed him to the cross and he suffered for our sins? You know he did that because he loves you right?
F: yeah, me sad, me cry.
Me: I’m sure we were all sad and cried when it happened.
F: All better now!
Me: Jesus is all better?!
F: Yup.
Me: Fischer do you remember Jesus in Heaven?
F: Yup.
Me: Did you talk to him and tell him things?
F: Yup, Griffin too!
Me: Oh yeah, what did you talk about?
F: Fly rod and golf clubs
Me: (laughing), Did you asked him for a fly rod and golf clubs?
F: Yup
Me: Well kid looks like Heavenly Father sent you to the right family then.
F: Yeah.

All I have to say is I sure love that kid.
