Easter Fun

We have been having a good time this Easter.  We saw the Easter bunny and went on a Easter Egg hunt at Karl's Grandma's place.

Waiting for the egg finding to begin

Showing off all his eggs.
Since Griffin isn't old enough to enjoy any of the candy in the eggs he had fun watching from the sidelines.
The kids love their Great Grandma and it's always fun to visit her place.
 We also decorated eggs.

Fischer was nice enough to decorate Griffin's egg.

Having Fun at the Park

Griffin's first swing ride

Fischer was so funny.  He wanted Daddy to go down the slide so he was pushing him down and tilting his head back so that Daddy would "fit."

Bittersweet Goodbye

Since 2007 I have worked for the City of Saratoga Springs in multiple departments.  I have truly grown to love so many of the people that work there.  Saratoga is really lucky to have the people they have.  They put their heart and soul into their jobs with very little payback or appreciation.  After much thought and discussion, my husband and I decided that the best thing for our family was to make the decision for me to quit my job and stay home with the kids.  As excited as I am for this new adventure in my life it does come with a little sadness at saying goodbye to those I have spent many hours with and worked beside so closely. This past Tuesday my office did a farewell lunch for me where they presented me with my very own official Saratoga Springs street sign.  I will greatly miss those I've worked with but I'm looking forward to making  memories with my kids.  They are only little once and I want to make the most of this short time I have with them.  Thank you Saratoga staff for making me feel so special and being supportive of my decision.

Haircut

Seeing Green

I don't know about everyone else but this St. Patrick's Day our house has been seeing a lot of green.  The little green leprechaun made his appearance by turning over all our chairs, turning our milk green and leaving little coins in his path.
For breakfast we had lucky charms.
For dinner we celebrated by having a green noodle creamy pesto pasta, green beans, golden bread sticks and for dessert, green pistachio cupcakes.

Meeting the Utah Jazz Players

Karl got tickets to a dinner with the Utah Jazz.  Neither one of us had been so we weren't really sure what to expect but it was pretty neat.  It was a semi-formal charity event where everyone comes wearing sneakers.  Kind of weird but fun at the same time.  Karl and I decided to take Fischer with us.  It was fun to get to interact with all of the players.  Fischer was a little unsure with how tall they all were but he seemed to have a good time.

5 Months & Growing

I cannot believe my "not so little" baby is 5 months.  Where did all the time go?  Griffin is growing like a weed.  He brings so much personality into our home I honestly can't picture life without him.  He has the most affectionate smile that goes from ear to ear.  I sure love this kid.  Here are some fun highlights about Griffin.

  • He had his first haircut.
  • He LOVES bath time   He kicks and squills and makes all sorts of splashes.
  • Had his first taste of baby food.  Did pretty good.  So far he's had sweet potatoes, carrots, and apple sauce.
  • He's starting to wear his 6 month clothes.  Did I mention he's a big boy.
  • He LOVES his Dad.  Dad is the only one that can seem to get him to giggle.
  • He rolls all over the place and can roll from stomach to back, and from back to stomach.
  • He likes to be rocked to sleep.
  • He is quite the talker.   He has lots of stories to tell apparently.
  • He's discovered his hands are very tasty.
  • He grabs, and reaches for anything he can.
  • He is not a kid that likes sitting on the sidelines.  He wants to be in the middle of what everyone else is doing.

Fischisms

I have the funniest 3 year old.  The things that come out of that kid's mouth are priceless.  I've compiled a few of the most recent and most common phrases that I like to term Fisher's Fischisms.

  • "Me Growl at Him!"
    • The story behind this is we were having a Family Home Evening lesson on sharing and we used the example of Fischer what would you do if Griffin took your toy. Hoping for an answer along the lines of sharing instead Fischer  responded with the above using the replacement word of "growl" for yell.  Now whenever he's yelling at us or he feels he's being yelled at he tells us that  "{insert name: ex: Daddy}growl at me."
  • "Me have big head."
  • "Me miss you whole time." or " Me miss you real bad"
    • Always heart clinching when leaving for work or when putting him down for bed.  That boy sure knows how to work it.
  • "No Freeze balls off, balls stay on balls"
    • I just want to say I blame Karl for this one.  Karl mentioned once when he was leaving on a winter campout with the scouts that he was going to "freeze his balls off" now whenever Fischer is cold or isn't cold we get the above.
  • "Me BIG, me STRONG!" (As his little noodle arms are being flexed)
  • "Me Sad, Me cry"
  • "Me like you lots"
  • "Me like hot girls"
Sure do love this little man.

First Dentist Trip

Fischer had his first official visit to the dentist.  He did AWESOME.  He was so good to let the dentist look at his teeth.  We are so proud of out little man and happy to report that he was cavity free.

Big Boy Food

Griffin got his first taste of baby food.  He actually did pretty good.  It took a little bit for him to get the tongue motion as he kept trying to slurp it down like a bottle but he seemed to enjoy himself.
First bite
"um, this stuff isn't so bad."
"I think I like this stuff."

Car Show with Grandpa

Anyone who knows my Dad knows that my Dad has a love for the old classics muscle cars. His car was one that was chosen to be part of the South Town Expo car show.  "Grandpa" was nice enough to invite Fischer, Griffin, and I to check it out. Fischer LOVED it. And still talks about it today.  He would go around to each car telling Grandpa that he wanted this car and that car.  Although their was a pink car that Fischer said I could have.
Batman even came with his cars

Fischer pointed out Grandpa's car right away and we of course had to get a picture in font of  "papa's  car" his 74'  Cuda

Ice Fishing

Every winter we have had the privileged of going to Fish Lake with my sister and her family.  It is a lot of fun. We rent cabins and just enjoy the beauty around us.  Fischer and Griffin had a GREAT time. Griffin stayed in the cabin with me most of the time but Fischer loved the fishing and manage to catch the biggest fish of the group.  He was SO proud of himself and had to show his fish off to everyone he walked by.

Fischer's prized fish.
The kids had a great time having a sleepover together.
