Christmas

We had a great Christmas.  We loved seeing family and getting to enjoy the holidays with them.  We spent Christmas Eve with my family and then spent Christmas night with Karl's family.
Every year the kids get PJ's on Christmas Eve

Love those little "Bear Cheeks"
Hunter reading to my boys.
The next morning the kids woke up to find that Santa had come.

The dogs were excited that Santa remembered them too.
That night the kids got to open more gifts at Grandma & Grandpa Christensen's.

Gone Fishin'-Fischer's 4th Birthday

I can't believe I have a 4 year old. Fischer is growing up so fast. Yesterday we celebrated his birthday in true Fischer style by having a Fishing Party.  It was a good time had by all. Here are some pictures from his party.

FOOD
For drinks our guest had the option of Fresh Spring Water or Lake Water (Apple Juice)
Dinner consisted of Hot dogs and Chili with a few fishy side dishes.
We had seaweed salad (green salad)
A bucket of worms (jello) Salmon Eggs (grapes) Fish and chips

We also provided bobbers and reels.
A party isn't complete without some fun games.  Our guest enjoyed fishing at Fischer's Fishin' Hole.

Even Griffin got in some fishing.
Next we had our Fish and Bait Challenge.  The guest were the fish while we lured them in with bait.  First "Fish" to eat the worm won the round.

We even got the big boys to come out for the bait.

FISH TOSS
I had a fish toss game that was out for anyone to play with it.  This was by far Griffin's favorite game.

After games we had Fischer open presents. Here are just a few of the gifts he received.

Every year Grandpa Mike has a stick for each grandchild that he marks how tall they are that year

Afterwords we sang happy birthday and let Fischer blow out his candles.
When the party was over we thanked our guest for coming and each of the kids received their own tackle box complete with worms and minnows (red sweetish fish)
Happy Birthday Fischer!  We sure love you.  Can't wait to see what this next year has in store for us.

Elf Magic

So glad I was able to capture this cute moment.
Me: Fischer, What are you doing?
F: Roasting marshmallows with Pres (the name of our elf) but don't worry Mom, me being REALLY careful not to touch him.
(He had used the kitchen chair to get himself a marshmallow and toothpick.)

Snow Day

Eating Snow

Griffin enjoyed the snow too.
The dogs weren't really sure they loved the snow. They decided they didn't want to stay and play shortly after this.
Making Snow Angels
Fischer fell and got stuck in a snow bank.  It was actually  funny to see him try and dig himself out. I eventually went and helped rescue him.
A snow day wouldn't be complete without warming up to some hot cocoa afterwords.

Santa Claus

Yesterday I took the kids to see Santa Claus.  We got there early and were one of the first in line.  Santa was so cute with the kids.  Since we were early and Santa's little helpers weren't quite ready, he came and visited with the children.  When Fischer and Griffin got up to sit on his lap there wasn't anyone else waiting so Santa sang some songs and told the boys about each of his reindeer and a little bit about their personalities. It was really cute to watch the two boys interact with him and have Santa take the time to interact with them too.  We know he gets busy listening to all the kids request for Christmas but I was really glad that he took a few minutes to make this experience a special one for them.
