All Things BYU Cake

I LOVED making this cake for my nephew.  BYU has such a special place in my heart.  I had some of the best times of my life at that school and love that I am a Brigham Young University Alumnist.  All the figurines and details were hand-sculpted, painted and shaped out of rice krispies and fondant. The cake was a blue and white swirl cake with a vanilla buttercream frosting.  GO COUGARS!

Mini Cakes

A friend of mine wanted little individual cakes to give her daughter and her husband during a combined party she was doing for them.  Her husband is a big 49er's fan so his cake was a 49er's cake with a fun surprise center (blue cake with orange frosting (Bronco's colors)-she is taking him to the 49ers/Bronco's game). Her daughter got a Frozen Princess cake. It was a sprinkle vanilla cake with colorful M&M center.

1st Day of School

On Friday Fischer started his second year of Preschool (or Pre-K if we're getting technical). Can't believe how big this guy is getting.  He started at a new place and seems to love it.  He can't wait to go again on Monday.

My First Wedding Cake

Anyone who knows me knows I have this crazy obsession with making cakes.  So when my friend asked if I would be available to make a wedding cake for her sister I was all sorts of excited.  As much fun as it was to do something new I have to admit that once the realization of what I was really about to do hit, it had me panicking.  The pressure and expectation of a wedding cake far exceeds any expectations of a birthday cake.  I stressed for days wanting this particular cake to be perfect.  When all was said and done I loved how the cake turned out.  All the flowers were hand-made, and each of the pearls were placed one by one. Top tier was chocolate cake with a chocolate pecan filling.  Bottom tier was vanilla cake with snickers filling.

Cute as a Button Cupcakes

Baby Showers are always a fun event. I love seeing all the cute baby stuff people get but this shower was particularly fun since it was for my sister-in-law Kaylee.  As part of her shower I got to make these fun "Cute as a button" cupcakes.  The cupcakes were a strawberry Lemonade cake with Lemon Cream Cheese frosting.  I loved how they turned out and I thought they were quite tasty too.

Sports Cake

Anyone who knows my nephew Cannon and his Dad knows they both LOVE sports.  Since their birthday's are so close together and Cannon's party happened to fall on Kent's actual birthday, what better cake then to do a sports themed cake for the two of them.

Bubbles & Foam Everywhere!

Today we went and checked out Lehi's Annual Foam Day.  I had never been (nor heard of it) but by sister's friend did so we thought we would take the kids and go.  It was alot of fun.  The fire department comes and fills this huge field with foam. The kids then get to run, slide, or just play around.  They also had big blow-up slides and watermelon for the kids to enjoy as well.

When it was time to begin we all jumped in.

 They had two fields.  One for the older kids and another for the younger ones.  Katelyn hung around with the boys and I while the older cousins played in their area.

Hike to Stewart Falls

Yesterday my family decided to take an afternoon hike up to Stewart Falls.  I have actually never been there so it was fun to go see.  Fischer did awesome on the hike and didn't even have to be carried.  Griffin loved riding on Daddy's shoulders and everyone seemed to enjoy being outside checking out nature.

Hunter was nice enough to carry Fischer across the river at the base of the waterfall.

Happy 10th!

I can't believe it's been 10 years since Karl and I said our I do's.  We've had rough moments and the best time of our lives. I wouldn't change a thing. I love this man so much.  Thanks for the amazing 10 years Karl!  Looking forward to the next 10!

Andreason Cousins

My Mom has been wanting a picture of all the grandkids for awhile and asked if I would attempt getting a picture of them all since everyone was in town.  Attempting a group shot of a bunch of wiggly kids taught me a few things, 1) I'm not meant to be a photographer, at least for group shots. 2) Put a couple of 4-year olds together and good luck getting a shot without hands in the face.  And 3) I really need to learn how to swap heads out.  Oh well.  Here are a couple of the "best" shots.

Ryan's Baptism

Saturday my nephew Ryan got baptized as a Member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  I am so proud of him.  I was lucky enough to get to be part of his special day and take some pictures of him.

Date Night

I don't often get to spent time with just Fischer so the other night we went on a Mommy/son date.  Our date consisted of dinner at Chic-Fil-A where we could play at the play place and going to see the movie "How to Train Your Dragon 2."

Camping at Stawberry

This past weekend we participated in the annual Crawdad Fest camp-out. A bunch of family and friends get together camp, cook, and hang out. The kids loved being outdoors and playing with all of the other kids.

 On Friday Andy and Karl took some of the kids out on the boat to fish.

 Since there wasn't a life jacket small enough for Griffin, he and I decided to walk around the lake while the others were on the boat.

 We were having dinner and turned around to Fischer peeing on a bush.  Oh to be a boy.

I LOVE this picture.  Mostly because Fischer went through so much work to bring me these wild flowers.  Karl had taken him out fishing that day and while out Fischer picked these for me.  He kept loosing his balance and falling but he refused to let go of the flowers that he had hand picked just for me.  Love this boy.

After dinner you would find a bunch of the kids putting on a dance party near Cristy and Kevin's campsite.  Griffin loved sitting down and watching them all.

Fischer loved hanging out with Gracie.  He was practically glued to her side for most of the camp-out.  I think he had quite the crush on her and she loved the attention.  Here they are dancing together.

Love being able to hang with my sisters.

I'm glad that we got the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors.  It was fun, but it was nice to be home to a hot shower and a warm bed.
