Big Boy Room

With a new baby on the way, it was only a matter of time before the two older ones would have to share a room.  I wasn't sure how the room sharing was going to go but so far it's gone pretty well. The first night was a little rough but it didn't take long before they both settled into the new arrangement. Griffin is loving having a big boy bed (and the freedom of mobility that comes with it) and Fisher could hardly wait to be getting a cool bunk bed where he got to sleep on the top bunk.  It's not uncommon to find both kids just hanging out in the "big boy room" just to lay down on their beds.
Griffin likes to show us how he gets onto his bed.  He is always so proud of himself when he makes it on himself.

Frogs, Snails, & Puppy-dog Tails

Today my family threw a baby shower for my brother's wife Torrie.  The theme was "Frogs, Snails and Puppy Dog Tails, That's What Little Boys Are Made Of."  I thought everything came together really nicely and I think Torrie enjoyed herself.
On the table we had a guess how many dog bones were in the container and let the guest write a little note to the mommy-to-be on a diaper.
Decorations included an "It's a Boy" sign, ALOT of balloons, and some figurines.

For the party favors we had doggy bags with puppy chow (aka: muddy buddies) in them.

My Mom went all out with the food.  Not only did everything taste great but it was all really cute.
 I loved the fruit froggies.

 Chicken Salad Puff  Snails.
We were so glad to everyone who came.

Torrie also received some great gifts

Future Super-cross Racer

Look whose decided he can ride by himself.  Fischer has been getting so good at riding his motorcycle.  He was a bit timid at first but now he loves it.

Brave Knight

Fischer had his 5 year checkup with the doctor today.  He was really nervous about going since he knew he would have to get the final set of shots needed to start kindergarten in the fall. On the way to the doctor he told me, "I don't like going to the doctor.  Every time I go my heart goes thump thump thump and tells me, you need to get out of here!"  For needing three sets of shots, he did really well, He needed me to hold him when they did them, but once it was over he was fine.  I told him we would stop at the dollar store after and let him pick out a prize for being tough about it.  When we got there he found this armor and shield (the sword we already had at home) and he had to have it since he was a like a brave knight at the doctors.

Rosette Smash Cake

A neighbor of mine asked if I would make a smash cake for her daughter who was turning one.  She had sent me a picture of the outfit her daughter would be wearing and we match the cake to the outfit. Here is the finished cake.
