Griffin's Room

For Griffin's room I decided to go with an airplane/geographical theme. It took a bit of work getting all the pieces to come together but I'm glad to finally have it done.  I'm pretty pleased with the way it turned out.

It's kind of hard to see from this picture but there is a mural of the world.  And for those wondering ...yes Karl and I did paint the mural. As for the plane...that's vinyl.  One wall design painting was enough for me.

Crazy & Unpredictable Life

So much has happened in such a short time.  Life is crazy and unpredictable.  Last weekend I got the "pleasure" of experiencing the stomach flu.  We had started the weekend by going to Cedar City to participate in my sister-in-laws other reception.  Everything was lovely and turned out nice.  I also got the great news that my brother had proposed to his girlfriend.  The weekend was starting out as a happy one.  The next morning I woke up not feeling well and making myself acquainted with the hotels toilet.  We packed up and took the LONG 3 hour drive home.  If you've ever had to drive home being sick,  NOT fun.  Luckily we had plenty of bags on hand.  Sunday I started to feel better and was even able to keep food down.  Unfortunately that night I started having horrible stomach pains.  So painful that I couldn't stand up.  So Karl called his Mom who was nice enough to come over late that night to watch Fischer who was sleeping while we rushed ourselves to the hospital.  Upon being admitted we discovered that I was having preterm contractions that were occurring every 2-4 minutes.  Not the greatest of news when you are only 29 weeks along.  So I was given a shot to stop the contractions and an IV to give me some fluids from having been so dehydrated from the flu I had the day before.  At about 2:00 AM the next morning we were released from the hospital with instructions and an appointment to see my doctor the next day.  Luckily everything ended up being okay.
This weekend I was able to go hang with my mom and my sister to see one of my favorite production "Wicked."  It was SO much fun and a weekend that I needed.  My Mom got us a hotel to stay at for the night and we spent the day browsing the shops, hanging by the pool, eating good food, and of course going to the show.  I'm so grateful to have family close by to do things with and who are able to help us out when in need.  I am truly blessed to have the family I have.
