Someone To Be Proud Of
I wanted to write a little bit about someone I really have been proud of lately, my dad. My dad has struggled with his weight for a long time. Recently he signed on to what is called the 100 day heart challenge. It basically works the same way as the TV series the Biggest Looser. Out of I think 91 applicants they take 15. My dad was one of them. Him getting into the program was no easy task. There were some that apparently did not think he should be apart of it. After doing a variety of tests they realized that with his health and the way his future was going that he was one of the contestants that needed the help the most. He has been working SO hard. I know this is not easy for him and my dad like the rest of our family has a great love of food. I just can't believe he is finally doing this, doing something, taking initiative of his life. In that sense he is my hero, he is doing something that many people won't or don't think they can do. I couldn't be more proud. He has inspired me to better myself. I love him so much. To read his story and about his progress thus far click here or click Brian Andreason in my friends and family section on the right. Please help in offering support and encouragement.

Just My Luck
So I've decided I have the forces against me when it comes to getting pictures of some of the things our family has have been doing. This weekend we went up and joined my sister and her family for the annual redneck crawdad fest and Fischer's first crawdad fest. So I decided since we were going camping and hanging with the "boyz" Fischer needed to dress the part. So decked out in his camo shirt and hat we headed up. I even remembered my camera this time thinking, "there's no way i'm not getting pictures." So we get up there, the area is beautiful, camp is set up inbetween a grove of large trees. So, I get my camera out, get the little man situation and click, nothing happens. So I make sure the camera is on, lens is off. Click, still nothing. My battery is dead. Do i have a replacement??? NO. Did I bring a charger??? NO. So yeah, No pictures. To top it off. The fourwheeler we brought to take rides up ended up getting a bolt on the oil pane broken, leaking oil everywhere so that meant no fourwheeler ride. Then to make it an even better story, this morning, now that we are home, Karl whips out his new waterproof camera to show me the panaramic picture he took while fishing. Did he happen to mention he had his other camera on him while I was trying to get pictures of Fischer??? of course not. So yeah, i figured when it comes to getting pictures taken it's just my luck that it doesn't go right. It either ends up being I forget the thing or that it just doesn't work. URG. Maybe next time right?

Fischer's 6 Month
I can't believe how fast Fischer is growing up. He's discovering new things everyday and everyday I'm amazed at how amazing the little things are that I tend to take for granted. Here are some updates about Fischer this month.
*He loves to suck on his toes.
*Pooh Bear is his FAVORITE. He looks forward to loving on him everynight (it's his sleep time toy).
*He's sitting up.
*He's eating solids. He likes everything so far except for peaches and turkey with gravy.
*He loves to tell stories and often talks to me to and from places in the car.
*He went swimming for the first time (and like a horrible mother I forgot my camrea. Trust me I beat myself up for that one perticularly since I had it in my hand, yet still managed to forget it).
*He's had his 2nd hair cut.

To the Great Men in My Life
I just wanted to give a shout out to all the great men in my life. I wouldn't be who I am without them.
To My Wonderful Husband
I love you SO much. I can't believe we've spent almost 6 wonderful years together. I couldn't think of anyone else on this world that I would rather be married to and share our beautiful child with. You are a great dad and husband. Fischer looks forward everyday to you coming home from work as do I. Watching the two of you together makes me feel like I'm in complete paradise and that nothing could be better at that moment.
To My Dad
My dad has taught me so much throughout my life. He may be more of the quite type but we've shared some amazing memories together. My dad has taught me that its okay to have the top down on the car, wind blowing in the hair, while singing to Berry Manalow. I learned that sometimes we need to slow down, sit on the porch and just watch the storms go by, or the stars come out. From my dad I learned that some of the best conversations are the ones without words. I love my Dad SO much. I don't think he realizes the amazing person he is and the kind heart he has. I wouldn't be the person I am today without him.
To my Father-in-Law
I couldn't ask for a better family to be married in to. Mike is so caring and eager to be part of our family's life. He's a hard worker and has raised Karl well. Mike is easy going and doesn't seem to stress the little stuff. Thank you for being such a great example to us.
To my Grandfathers
I am blessed with having the opportunity to have known both my Grandfathers. Although one has since past I feel his love everyday and his guidance when I need it most. Although he may not be here in body he is here in spirit and I appreciate the endless love I feel from him each day. To my other grandfather, I love his pleasent tempermant and easy smile. You can't help be happy when you are around him. Seeing him smile lights up an entire room. He doesn't often speak up a lot but when he does, everyone listens.
Happy Father's Day!

Zumba Challenge

So I've recently signed up for Zumba classes and I've decided I'm going to take the Zumba Challenge. What do I have to loose right? The challenge is to see who can loose the most percentage of weight loss in a 15 class period. The weigh-in is this coming Tuesday and I think it ends on July 15th. I'm excited about this but somewhat nervous too. I've never had much success loosing weight when I wanted too. So hopefully this will be a good experience.

My Five Month Old
I can't believe how fast time flies. It seems like just the other day I was bringing Fischer home from the hospital and now he's five months old. He is such a joy in our home and brings so much laughter and joy. We love you Fischer. Thanks for being a part of our lives, it would be incomplete without you.
UPDATES:
*He does a lot of babbling.
*He has figured out that splashing in the tub is pretty fun and gets mom and dad both wet.
*He experienced his first cold and diarrhea spell
*He FINALLY started sleeping through the night consistently.
*He's discovered his feet and likes to try and suck on them.
*He started on solids. So far Carrots are his favorite (although we haven't tried any of the fruits yet).
*He's becoming a Daddy's boy (Dad is WAY more fun then Mom apparently).

One Cool Little Hat
Karl and I were walking around Fashion Place mall after having dinner at the Cheesecake Factory and ran across this baby hat in the window. We both instantly fell in love with it, thought it was the coolest little hat, and had to get one for Fischer. It's a little big on Fischer now but I'm hoping to get some cute pictures with him in it soon.

Rice Cereal, Attempt #1
So we decided to start Fischer on some solid food. Needless to say I'm not sure how impressed he was with it. (Course it isn't the chocolate frosting that Aunt Lisa gives him). Anyway he did okay. He didn't really eat it or spit it out. He kind of just held it in his mouth.

4 Months and First Haircut
Today Fischer is celebrating his 4 month birthday. To celebrate, Daddy gave him his first official haircut and of course we forgot to take pictures. My job was to hold the little man while Daddy trimed his hair. His hair was getting so long. I swear some of the strands were four inches long. He seriously looked like a little baby monkey if you ratted it and looked at him from the back. So know he looks like a clean cut presentable little guy. Fischer is getting to be so much fun. Here are some highlights from this last month.
- He LOVES to smile.
- Morning is his favorite time of day.
- He coos, caas, and likes to talk to himself.
- He can roll from his back to his stomach (although he rarely does it he can do it).
- He's discovered that his hands can do more then just be sucked on.
- He can grip and hold on to a toy.
- He can sit up with just a little support.
- He can stand and bare weight on his legs for a good stretch of time.
- He actually slept through the night for the first time (unfortunately it was short lived).

Sunday Best and Then Some
For Easter I got Fischer a cute little outfit and tie, so of course I had to take pictures. However, I had NO idea that it would take me the ENTIRE day to get a few decent pictures of my little guy all dressed up. He was not wanting pictures done at all. So here are a few of the good ones of him not screaming.
Future Missionary Perhaps?
I So Sleepy...
While Fischer was taking a nap Sadie felt she needed her picture taken. What took an entire day to get pictures of Fischer took me only 5 minutes with Sadie. She was so funny, I would take a picture and then she would strike a new pose. Sadie is definetely my camera girl. She loves having her picture taken. I didn't have to position her in any of these pictures she did all of these on her own.

Happy Easter
We had a great Easter this year. Fischer ended up doing really well by the easter bunny. He got a cute new outfit (picture to come soon), some new bottles, books, and socks. He got a cute outfit from Grandma Kate and Aunt Brooke, and some fun PJ's from Grandma Joyce. The day started by going to breakfast at my sisters house, that afternoon we did lunch at my Mom's and that evening we did dinner at Karl's mom's. It was fun to see everyone.

Rolling Over
So Fischer has been getting really good at rolling over from his stomach to his back. He's accomplished rolling from his stomach to his back in both directions. However, I was SO proud of my little man today when I had him on his back and he decided to roll onto his stomach. Yay for Fischer! Congrats on an important milestone.
