Crawdad Fest

Every year we have gone camping up near Strawberry Reservoir and taken part on what has become called as the Crawdad Fest.  We had a great time camping with family and friends.

We arrived Friday evening and enjoyed hanging around the fire.

The next morning Karl and my Brother-in-law Andy went fishing.

 

I stayed at camp with the kids but we got rained on that morning so some of the kids took cover in my sister's trailer and watched a movie.

The rain didn't last long and the kids were outside enjoying nature.

Griffin really enjoyed this piece of watermelon during lunch

 After lunch, Karl, I and kids went down to the lake.

Fischer enjoyed throwing rocks in the lake and watching the dogs chase after them.

 

While at the lake Andy and some of the crew came floating by.

We then decided to head back to camp to let the kids play and help with dinner.

Dinner consisted of crawdads that were caught earlier in the day as well as sausage, shrimp, scallops, corn, and potatoes

of course it wouldn't be camping without peeing on a bush.

 Griffin had fun with everyone.

 That night Shane entertained us with some of his fire tricks.

He even got the kids and grownups involved.

Since it's a bit hard to see, the first video is of Shane's hand on fire while he shakes Fischer's hand.

Monday Night Golf

Karl took the family out to the driving range. Fischer loved hitting the golf balls.

Griffin was happy with the golf sleeve cover. 

9 Months

I can't believe Griffin is 9 month old.  This boy has completely captured my heart.  Here are some fun facts about him.

• He loves books.  His favorite book is his touch and feel, "That's Not My Monster."
• He loves to jump around in his bouncer.  

• He gets on his hands and knees and rocks back and forth like he's going to crawl but doesn't actually crawl...yet.
• He LOVES plums.

•  He scoots around on the floor but often go backwards rather then forward
• He experienced his first firework show. He thought they were pretty neat and weren't bothered by them at all. 

• He sucks his thumb when he sleeps.
• His Mom is completely memorized by his crystal blue eyes.

• He loves his dogs and the dogs love him. 

Sadie kept trying to get in the pictures with Griffin, so I finally broke down and took a picture of the two of them together. 

Independence Day

We had a pretty low key 4th of July.  I spent the morning with the boys while Karl went Fishing.

That night we did a BBQ and had family and friends come and watch fireworks.

Fischer doesn't like the loud sounds of the  fireworks so he wore his ear muffs.

Griffin actually LOVED the fireworks.  He was so intrigued by them. Every time a firework went off his eyes would get big and wide.

Summer Fun

I've been really behind posting so sorry to anyone who attempts to visit my blog.  As some of you may or may not be aware I recently had a Tympanoplastic Surgery (AKA: eardrum reconstruction).  Anyway I suffer from hearing loss in both ears but mostly in my left ear so on June 17th I went into surgery to hopefully restore some of my hearing in my left ear.  I was out of it for awhile so I'm trying to play catch up.  Here are some fun things our family has been doing.

SLIP N' SLIDE
The ward did a big slip n' slide event.  I couldn't participate due to my recent surgery but Fischer and Karl sure had a fun time.

Fischer was having a hard time going down himself so Daddy had him slip down riding on his back.

 

Don't think there is a cuter face then this.

 

FARM ANIMALS
A friend and I took the kids to Thanksgiving point to see the Farm Animals. Since we were going to ride horses Fischer had to make sure he wore his cowboy boots.

Griffin had fun too.

"My Size Fish!"

Karl took Fischer on a scout camp a while back ago and Fischer was so excited that he and dad were able to catch a Fischer "my size fish."

Ready to Race

Fischer is so funny.  He's been really big into the motorcycle races so he has taken it upon himself to become a motorcycle racer too.  He found these goggles in a construction work set thing he had and they have become his motorcycle goggles.  Now anytime he rides his bike he preps himself for his big race.
