It's not often that Fischer gets to hang out with all of his cousins on the Andreason side. We have been lucky to have my sister and her family visiting this summer. He has loved getting to hang out and play with his cousins and his Aunt and Uncle that he doesn't get to see very often.
Hope everyone had a great 4th of July. We certainly did. We enjoyed the 4th with family and friends. We started the celebrations by meeting up with Karl's side of the family up at Bridal Vail Falls.
Fischer and his cousins from Oregon.
Yum!
After a quick bite to eat we all hiked up the trail to the waterfall. At the base of the waterfall they have a little pool with fish that they let people feed. Fischer and the other kids seem to enjoy feeding the fish.
Grandpa Mike was nice enough to take Fischer wading in the stream.
Afterwords we left and went to the my side for a family BBQ. It was Yummy. My compliments to the sexy chef (aka: my Dad)
What's a family BBQ without homemade Rootbeer and Cream Soda?
That night we had family and friends stop by our house to light some fireworks. As you can see from the picture below Fischer was not the biggest fan of the fireworks. He kept hiding his face behind his hands and closing his eyes.
It was fun having all our neighbors, family, and friends stop by and enjoy the holiday with us. We hope this is a tradition we can continue doing for years to come.
This last weekend we were able to go and join with some family and friends at the Annual "Crawdad Fest" or so they call it. It was fun hanging out with everyone. Fischer had a blast and wanted to fish non-stop (Which will explain all the fishing photos).
The first night we arrived, as soon as we had camp set up, Fischer asked his dad to take him fishing. Karl of course couldn't tell him no.
And of course it wouldn't be camping without Karl teaching Fischer the proper technique of peeing in a bush.
The next day Fischer and I hung around the campground a bit and let him play with his cousin while Karl met up with some people to go fishing himself. Karl unfortunately had the camera so I didn't get any pictures of Fischer and the kids playing. That night we did the famous Crawdad boil. The older kids had spent the day catching crawdads down by the lake which they then boil up with a bunch of other yummy food.
After dinner Fischer once again had to go fishing with Daddy.
Not sure what it is about these shoes, but Fischer seems to like my yellow heals. He was pretty proud that he was able to walk around in these. He should be, those are 4" heals.
Okay so I've know for awhile that I am having a boy thanks to some great friends with great connections. But since I haven't made the official announcement I thought I would. We are really excited to be adding another little guy to our family. I'm glad Fischer will have a brother. Today we had our official ultrasound at the doctors. Everything is looking great. He's active and measuring where he should.
Can I just say I love how he is pointing to himself in this picture.
Putting Fischer to bed at our house is one of my favorite times of the day. (And No it is not because he's going to bed and I get time to myself.) Fischer's bedtime ritual is one my favorites. It's one of the few moments in our day where the TV is off, the phones are turned away, and we get to spend a couple minutes just as a family. Bedtime ritual starts with a bath that usually is done by his Dad while i get his PJ's together and gather up his blanket. I love hearing the two of them laugh and giggle about bubbles in the tub or splashing daddy. It truly is music to a mother's ears. Once bath time is done and Fischer is dressed in jammies we settle down and read a chapter from the scriptures. Fischer usually likes to sit next to me and read along. Then he gets to pick a book of his own. Sometimes two. Once reading is done we say our prayers (which is becoming so cute as Fischer tries to say his own.) Then for my personal favorite...a little dance with Mom. Every night I will hold him and as he lays his head on my shoulder and we will either sing or hum a song while we sway back and forth. Lately Fischer will be the one who will sing and hum a song as we sway and dance around the room. It melts my heart and I love it. I hope it's something that will last for awhile as I know all little boys grow up.
This Summer has just began but we have been having lots of fun enjoying the good weather and being together with family. Here are just some of the things we have been doing thus far.
FISHING
In our family the summer wouldn't be summer if we didn't go fishing. Karl and Andy (our brother-in-law) decided to take the boys fishing. Needless to say they had a lot of fun.
This was Fischer saying "No Daddy!" He didn't want Daddy's help. He was a big boy and going to fish all by himself.
Hunter is getting pretty good at the fly fishing.
Since Karl didn't get to fish much with having Fischer around he decided to go back to the same river later that week and caught this nice size fish.
RODEO
We were able to go to the Eagle Mountain Rodeo. (Sorry No pictures) but it was fun hanging out with the family and Fischer loved watching the horses and the bulls buck off the cowboys.
DEMOLITION DERBY
Fischer and I got to experience our first demolition derby. It was quite the experience. The sound of crashing metal still makes me shiver, but Fischer LOVED it. He still talks about it. He was cheering and asking for more every time one of the events ended.
Lining up for the next round
Fischer was too intrigued in the cars to stop watching to pose for a picture.
This guy was CRAZY. They did a truck round and he was the last truck standing so he decided to thrill everyone with a stunt.
It's been fun and can't wait to see what the rest of summer brings.
For our Family Night we decided to do something our family enjoys, Golfing. This was Fischer's first round of golf. He LOVED it.
Fischer loved the golf car. He thought it was so fun. Karl even let him drive.
Fischer was good to make sure to tell his Dad where all the holes were. This is him pointing one out. When we would leave to go to the next hole Fischer would shout out, "bye hole."
Watching Dad show him how it is done.
Taking a big swing for himself.
Fischer got pretty attached to Karl's putter. Since Karl forgot to bring my clubs for Fischer to play with, he was without a putter and was forced to putt with one of his wedges.
Hole in One! Anytime Fischer would put his ball in the hole he would throw his arms up and either shout "Yes!" or "Yay!"
We had a great time out on the golf course. Fischer did awesome and I see him becoming quite the little golfing buddy for his dad.
Last weekend Karl and my Brother-in-law Andy decided to take the kids camping to Strawberry to do a little fishing. So the dad's got all the stuff packed-up and ventured out on a daddy kid campout. It sounds like all the kids had a good time hanging out with the Dad's. Fischer didn't like the wind much but loved following his cousins around and doing everything they were doing.
Last Saturday our family enjoyed an evening at Motorcross. We got to meet some of the drivers during the Pit Party. It was a fun night and Fischer loved the Motorcycles. He even got his hat signed by one of the racers.
One of the riders was nice enough to let him sit on his bike.
